      We’re looking for a killer Account Director to join our team in the US and to manage a number of our most prestigious client accounts. Based out of the NYC area, an OK COOL Account Director is someone who has in-depth knowledge of social media platforms and how brands should show up on them.

      In this role, you’ll lead our accounts and provide strategic solutions to client’s business challenges. You’ll be a people person, good at building relationships and driving growth. You’ll bring to the team your experience ensuring seamless execution of social-first campaigns. 

       

      Responsibilities:

      Client Strategy & Relationship Management

      • Serve as the primary point of contact for key clients, fostering strong relationships and long-term partnerships.
      • Identify opportunities for growth within existing accounts and proactively propose new initiatives.
      • Liaising with clients, pitching and receiving briefs and communicating client expectations to the team
      • Help support clear internal and external ways of working and positionings to improve the OK COOL team.
      • Manage your portfolios overarching finances and P&L trackers

       

      Campaign Oversight & Execution

      • Collaborate with creative, strategy, and production teams to develop compelling, social-first content.
      • Oversee the execution of campaigns across platforms, ensuring excellence in creative output and performance.
      • Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and on budget, maintaining a high standard of execution.
      • Troubleshoot challenges and proactively implement solutions to optimize campaign success.

       

      Team Leadership & Collaboration

      • Ensuring the team is executing against the social media strategy laid out by the strategy team
      • Lead and mentor account managers and coordinators, fostering a culture of excellence and innovation.
      • Work closely with internal teams—including creative directors, strategists, and media buyers—to ensure integrated, high-impact campaigns.
      • Communicate effectively with senior leadership on account performance, client feedback, and growth opportunities.

       

      Qualifications & Skills:

      • 6+ years in account management, preferable in a creative agency or social media-focused environment
      • Kindness, patience and optimism for your clients and colleagues
      • An entrepreneurial attitude to seeking out opportunities
      • Experience managing and mentoring teams.
      • A thirst for social media trends and a deep understanding of platforms and best practices.
      • Excellent client-facing communication skills.
      • Strong project management skills, with the ability to oversee multiple campaigns simultaneously.
      • Proven ability to lead client relationships, manage expectations, and drive results.
      • Experience developing social media strategies and media planning.
      • An understanding of how technology, the arts and pop culture impact advertising and online trends.

      Relevant experience:

      • 5-6 years agency experience and have been in a senior conceptual creative or senior creative strategy role before.
      • Strong high-street fashion or retail background.
      • Experience generating short-form social content.
      • Experience in ideating and producing Instagram and TikTok content.
      • Strong eye for art-direction and visual curation 
      • Can show examples of high-performing social content.
      • An excellent understanding of the social media industry and platforms.
      • Strong copywriting and storytelling skills, with an understanding of tone, brevity, and platform nuances.
      • Comfortable in a fast-paced environment – you thrive on quick turnarounds and love reacting in real time to what’s happening online.
      • Collaborative mindset – you’re great in a team, open to feedback, and love building on ideas with others.
